Controls & Functions

• CLARITY – Enhances the definition and brightness of a sound source using a combination of EQ boosting and subtle saturation.
• BITE – Increases aggression and grit, adding sharpness and character to the sound.
• WARMTH – Ideal for bass and vocals, adding body, depth, and weight, making bass more intelligible on smaller speakers.
• AIR – A high-shelf EQ boost that enhances the overall brightness and openness of a sound.
• PRESENCE – Pushes the sound forward in the mix, increasing its clarity and prominence.
• BOTTOM – Strengthens the low-end, making it great for kicks and deep bass frequencies.
• S’s & T’s – Reduces sibilance while preserving high-frequency detail. For stronger reduction, switch the bandwidth style to extreme.
• DARKEN – Applies a low-pass filter, softening the highs for a warmer, smoother tone.

iLok Installation & Activation

BEFORE installing your HMD plugin, you will need iLok (free to download).Purchase of an iLok USB is not necessary—you only need your computer. Look for a Blue Button that says Download iLok License Manager.Enter the activation code sent to your email upon opening the plugin.

Compressor Controls & Functions:

Attack – Tight / Open

• Tight = Fast attack
• Open = Slow attack

Threshold – More EFX / No EFX

• Adjusts the threshold level, determining when compression is applied.

Release – Aggressive / Smooth

• Aggressive = Fast release
• Smooth = Slow release

Makeup Gain – Louder / Silence

• Louder increases the volume after compression.
• Silence lowers the output level.

Transparent Button

• Enables standard compression behavior without added tonal shaping.

Hype Button

• Introduces saturation, enhancing transients and creating a thicker, fuller sound.

Compression Ratios – Light → Medium → Heavy → Smash

• Light = 2:1
• Medium = 4:1
• Heavy = 8:1
• Smash = 50:1

Auto Gain Button

• Automatically compensates for volume loss caused by gain reduction, maintaining level consistency.
